Zedge Premium Artist Profile: Bertil

Where are you located?

I live in the middle of Norway

What kind of art do you make?

I make just about anything you can think of. Not committing myself to one category or any set of tools, Anything from AI art to sculpting in clay with my hands, and anything in between.

Bling Monkey Ape

When and why did you first become an artist?

I think I must have been around 17 years old when I sold my first piece of art, An acrylic painting with some rusty metal bits glued to it, such a proud moment for me that I still remember with pride and joy.

What tools do you use most in your work, and how has that changed over time?

These days the tools I use the most are an AI generator together with Photoshop. Over the time I have used most means of expressing myself that I can think of, from photography, sculpting, woodcarving, Blender, painting, and drawing just to name a few. In general I think I can say that I try it all and then stick with the tools I enjoy.

What’s your opinion of AI image generators? If you use them in your work, please tell us how.

AI is an Extremely potent tool, but still has a way to go before I feel that I can use it on its own. I can spend hours or even sometimes days making something that is good enough to post somewhere like Zedge, and even then I always give it some finishing touches in Photoshop to get the details just right.

How and when did you first discover Zedge Premium?

I have been with Zedge Premium almost since day one I believe, Not sure how long but many many years at least.

How many profile pages do you have in Zedge?

I have 22 profiles in total, but not actively uploading to more that 3 - 4 of them these days

How many items do you upload each day/week/month on average?

Not sure but maybe on average I would guesstimate around 2 items a day (more in the winter and less in the summer).

What’s surprised you about Zedge users?

Their taste in wallpapers can be quite different from my own

What tips or tricks do you have for other Zedge artists?

Spending some more time on making a polished product should pay off in the long run. If you are uploading 100s of items a day you are making items that too much resemble whatever everyone else is making. Just my humble opinion

🤷

What other artists or works inspire you?

There is almost no limit to what other artists I can be inspired by but just to name a few : beeple_crap, Edvard Munch, Håkon Gullvåg
